ZodCaps (or "Zodiac's Captures") originally started out as a video capture (vidcap) web page of beautiful female celebrities that I would create as I watched movies, for others to see and discuss. Eventually I realized that pages with these vidcaps were getting a vastly greater amount of visits than my other web pages, so I continued to do it. Years and years later, this site has now become a discussion board as well as an archive where everyone can send their pictures, videos, and post their movie reviews, celerity gossip, etc.
HOW TO VIEW PICTURE UPDATES: Updates are split into different pages, arranged as thumbnail images. Click on any thumbnail to view the full size picture. If a link from the main page goes to say "Gallery 4" of a celebrity, then the new images added in that update *start* at the gallery 4 page and you can keep clicking "Next Page" at the bottom to view more images in that update until the "Next Page" icon no longer gives a new page.
VIDEOS: Due to the massive amount of bandwidth the video clips use, the video clips section will only be available to visitors who donate to the site to help cover the costs of that bandwidth.
CONTENT: The content here has been gathered from various sources publicly available on the internet. The forum msgs are posted via a script ('bot') that automatically searches blogs for new content. I always try my best to monitor all new content being added by the automated system, but in the event I miss something that is illegal or obscene, please let me know immediately!!! IMAGES USED WITHOUT PERMISSION: The images found on this site have been gathered from all sorts of various sources. If you find a media file (image or movie) that has been put online in contrast to the policies of the person/organization you represent, please leave feedback to the webmaster and the file(s) in question will be removed. ZODCAPS.COM HISTORY :
This site was *never* intended to become as large as it has. It started back around 2000 as a bunch of web pages on another site, after somebody put some bikini pictures of some celebrity (I don't even recall who), so I copied them and put them up on my own web pages. I noticed once the pictures were added, daily visitors started increasing dramatically. So, I started looking for more pictures of celebrities, and at the time they were rather hard to come by. So I thought, well... there's *lots* of celebrities on TV and movies, why don't I capture video stillshots of those? Alas, the video capture (vidcap) was born. I had already been doing vidcaps for my other sites (non-celebrity related), so it was an easy start.
Eventually there wasn't enough room on the current host/domain to keep going, so I took on an alias from a book sitting on the bookshelf ("z0diac" - which I've never even read), registered the domain "zodcaps" (for z0diac's vidcaps), and started slowly adding pictures each week. As the vidcaps continued to grow, I added another section for regular pictures (photos, magazine scans, etc) which were already posted on the internet. As bandwidth grew and broadband become common, videos started becoming popular, so a video section was added.
The site was 100% html based up until this time, but forums were always gaining in popularity. And since I ran a BBS (bulletin board system) since the early 80's, setting up my own forum was the natural thing to do. This is when the daily visits really started to take off. New content was organized, the forum kept track of what visitors had read and what they had not, visitors could add their own content, etc, etc.
So that's where the site is today. All the pictures have been moved over to the forum, and the video section is next. With well over 10,000 video files, this could take some time, but it will be well worth it for all. So keep coming back each day for new celebrity pictures and videos, and enjoy the site!
May 5, 2010 we have 10,800 videos online (225GB), 275,000 locally stored images, and 377,000 linked images (for a total of over 652,000 images online!)
May 26, 2010 - video database went online. All video files (10,000+ at the time) were all only on HTML pages. They have now begun being moved into a video database, fully searchable.
May 27, 2010 - forum passes 10,000,000 (10 million) thread views
Aug.18, 2010 - 4066 videos (823 celebrities) currently added to video database.
May.16, 2011 - 8664 videos in database, 1.1 million photos
